Center for Independent Living

As a certified Center for Independent Living, DRS provides services (free of charge) that empower individuals with disabilities in our community to achieve their maximum level of independence at home and in the community by setting and achieving goals, enhancing self-esteem, self-advocacy, and providing peer support and education.

Serving Larimer and Jackson counties, we are a consumer-controlled, community-based, nonresidential, nonprofit grassroots agency. It also means we must perform an array of independent living services to people of any age with any disability, including five federally-mandated core services:

  • Information and referral
  • Individual and systems advocacy
  • Independent living skills training
  • Peer mentorship
  • Transition service

To be certified also requires that more than 50% of staff and board of directors are people with disabilities.

Disabled Resource Services is an equal opportunity employer/program. Auxiliary aids and services are available upon request to individuals with disabilities.
