Evan Shockley

Evan initially came to DRS to receive services as a consumer. He brought with him, both handyman and customer service experience. He started working for us in the fall of 2017 by maintaining the durable medical equipment we rent from our loan closet. He had been a youth peer support and is now a strong representative for our center in the state’s Youth Leadership Forum.

In the spring of 2020 accepted a position with us as our newest Independent Living Specialist. He worked with our Vision Matters program coordinator for a few months before applying for the Youth Program Coordinator Position.

Evan was recently nominated and is now serving on a national board of directors for The Association of Programs for Rural Independent Living. He also is a member, and works at the local Elks lodge, promoting charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity.
